Terms of Service

Last updated: March 19, 2026 · Effective: March 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the (un)hire platform at unhire.ai (the "Service"), operated by Squidler AB, you agree to these Terms of Service. Users must be at least 18 years old with legal capacity to enter this agreement.

2. Service Description

(un)hire is a platform operated by Squidler AB that lets you create and use personal AI specialists — agents that learn your business, remember your preferences, and work alongside you through chat and messaging platforms.

The platform provides:

  • Infrastructure to run AI-powered agents using third-party AI provider APIs
  • Integration with messaging platforms (Telegram, Signal, WhatsApp)
  • Management interface to configure and control your agent

We provide the platform that runs your AI agent. We do not control, direct, supervise, or take responsibility for what your agent does, says, or produces. The underlying AI models are supplied by third-party providers (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI) under their own terms. Your agent operates autonomously based on your instructions and the capabilities of those models.

3. Beta Disclaimer

The Service is currently in beta, provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis with no warranties regarding uptime, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, or fitness for particular purposes. The company reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue service without notice.

4. Account Responsibilities

Users must:

  • Maintain credential confidentiality
  • Accept responsibility for all account activity
  • Safeguard API keys
  • Promptly report unauthorized use
  • Not share credentials or allow multiple users per account

5. User Data Ownership and Responsibility

This is the most important section.

Users own all data provided to their AI agent. (un)hire claims no ownership. Users are solely responsible for:

  • All data shared with the agent, including third-party personal data
  • All agent outputs, actions, and communications
  • Agent interactions through messaging channels
  • Legal compliance (GDPR, data protection regulations)
  • Obtaining necessary third-party consents
  • Disclosing to third parties that they're communicating with AI

(un)hire does not monitor, review, moderate, or control agent conversations or actions. Your agent may browse websites, send messages, interact with third-party services, and take other actions based on your instructions or its own interpretation of your instructions. Squidler AB bears no responsibility whatsoever for any harm, loss, damage, inaccuracy, legal liability, or regulatory non-compliance arising from anything your agent does or fails to do. This includes actions the agent takes that you did not explicitly instruct, as autonomous behavior is an inherent characteristic of AI agents.

Warning: Do not share sensitive data including Swedish personal identity numbers (personnummer), passwords, financial credentials, medical information, biometric data, or GDPR Article 9 special category data. Sharing such data occurs entirely at user risk.

6. Prohibited Use

Users cannot use the Service to:

  • Violate laws or third-party rights
  • Generate harmful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or illegal content
  • Engage in harassment, spam, phishing, fraud, or social engineering
  • Impersonate individuals or entities without clear disclosure
  • Gain unauthorized system or account access
  • Reverse-engineer or disassemble the Service
  • Build competing products
  • Circumvent access controls, rate limits, or security measures
  • Damage or impair infrastructure

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

7. API Keys and Third-Party Services

Users provide their own API keys for third-party AI providers and acknowledge:

  • Sole responsibility for obtaining, maintaining, and paying for API keys
  • Third-party terms of service and privacy policies govern their use
  • Conversation data transmits to third-party providers
  • (un)hire bears no liability for third-party actions, errors, breaches
  • API costs are user responsibility
  • API keys are encrypted at rest and used only as configured

8. Payment Terms

During the beta period, the Service may be provided free of charge. You will be notified at least 30 days before any paid plans are introduced and will have the opportunity to accept or decline. When paid plans are active, the following terms apply:

  • Monthly subscription processed through Stripe
  • Auto-renewal at each billing period unless cancelled
  • Fees quoted in displayed currency, inclusive of applicable VAT
  • 30 days' notice before price changes
  • Failed payments may result in account suspension

9. Cancellation and Refunds

Users may cancel anytime through the platform or by contacting support. Upon cancellation:

  • Subscription remains active until end of current billing period
  • No further charges apply
  • No prorated refunds for unused time
  • Data handling follows the Privacy Policy

EU consumers: Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. To exercise this right, contact legal@squidler.io.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Swedish law:

(un)hire and Squidler AB are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages including loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill.

The company is not liable for damages from:

  • AI agent actions, outputs, decisions, or behavior, whether instructed by the user or taken autonomously
  • Incorrect, misleading, or harmful content generated by AI agents
  • Actions taken by agents on third-party platforms or services on behalf of the user
  • User-shared data
  • Third-party AI provider actions or outages
  • Unauthorized account access due to user negligence
  • Service interruption or discontinuation

Total aggregate liability does not exceed the greater of (a) fees paid in the preceding three months, or (b) SEK 1,000. Nothing excludes liability for fraud or willful misconduct under Swedish law.

11. Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Squidler AB, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Service use
  • AI agent actions or outputs
  • Data shared through the agent, including third-party personal data
  • Terms violations or legal non-compliance
  • Third-party claims from agent interactions
  • Data protection obligation failures

12. Data and Privacy

The Privacy Policy governs service use and is incorporated by reference. Users acknowledge reading and understanding it.

Users act as data controllers; (un)hire acts as data processor under GDPR. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available upon request at legal@squidler.io.

13. Intellectual Property

The (un)hire platform, software, design, branding, and documentation are owned by Squidler AB and protected by intellectual property laws.

Users retain full ownership of User Data. By using the Service, users grant (un)hire a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, store, and transmit User Data solely to provide and operate the Service. This license terminates upon data deletion per the Privacy Policy.

Users cannot use (un)hire's name, logos, or branding without prior written consent.

14. Termination

(un)hire may suspend or terminate accounts for the following reasons:

  • Terms violations
  • Prohibited use
  • Non-payment
  • Service discontinuation

Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice before termination. Upon termination, service access ceases immediately. Sections 5, 10, 11, 13, 15, and 16 survive termination.

Users may terminate by cancelling subscriptions and requesting account deletion. Data deletes within 30 days per the Privacy Policy.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Swedish law, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

All disputes are resolved exclusively by competent Swedish courts.

This does not affect your rights as a consumer under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

16. Severability

If any provision is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in full force. Invalid provisions are modified minimally to become valid while preserving original intent.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any executed DPA, constitute the entire agreement regarding the Service. They supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, written or oral.
